A full bodied Oil for the nourishment and protection of all external exposed timbers*. Tung & other vital plant oils/ extracts have been impreg- nated with refined bees-wax and UV ray absorbing Oxides & UV rated colour enhancers, to guard against exposure, degradation & wood rot. With new Hardwood timbers appraise the use of Organoil’s Woodguard prior to using a full bodied oil.

* This product is NOT suitable for use on tongue and groove verandah flooring or internal flooring.

A low sheen finishing oil that penetrates the timber substrate to nourish, preserve and seal; as well as providing protection against weather degradation and rot. Filtered, unmodified Tung Nut Oil, Citrus, Eucalypt and Pine Wood oils/extracts with dissolved, refined Bees Wax, UV rated colourants in the form of dyes added to Red & Gold Enhancers to extend longevity of product under full sun.

Exterior – Preserving and finishing timber garden furniture, spa panelling shutters, louvres, gunstocks, marine trims& handrails and may be used on joinery under full verandah protection. Red Hardwood & Gold Teakwood Enhancers will give even more longevity to fully exposed timbers.

Internal – Timber bench tops and vanities in wet areas ie. bathrooms & laundries (follow Wet Sanding procedure under Woodcraft Icon. The ingredients in this product best address their needs, though not to be used on flooring.

Particularly suited to powered-disc (and on-lathe) finishing with wet and dry sandpaper. Based on genuine TUNG NUT oil, this product provides excellent sealing, efficient drying/curing and ‘handling’ durability to the finished item. Following the advocated “Burnishing Technique” (refer to Wet Sanding procedure above) helps ensure greater hardening of this oil at and below the surface, also delivering a quality patina/sheen and better surface endurance.

BENCHTOPS, TABLETOPS, FOOD SERVING ITEMS (bowls, boards etc.)

A penetrative, nourishing, quality finishing oil which reflects the original, heavy-oil formulations that traditional Danish Oils were renowned for. As a clear finish will richly enhance the existing woodcolour/s. For best results, requires quality dry-sand surface preparation; using 600 /1200 / 1500 grit papers (the finer the better).

Upon curing/drying (min. 14 days) makes for ideally prepared surface for further (optional) Waxing/Polishing.
Will not go off in can after opening (shelf-life several years, providing contaminants are not introduced - decanting prior to use is recommended). Once dry, is both FOOD and CHILD-SAFE.

Internal (only) woodworking, furniture, joinery and other non-traffic feature timbers such as wall/ceiling panelling and exposed beams. NOT for FLOORING or BENCHTOP use.

A highly penetrative, light plant oil/beeswax interim woodprotectorate. Designed as a single (1 only) application catering for exposed, raw timber’s needs prior to final finishing. WOODGUARD will assist in the reduction of weather-staining, tannin (and other nutrient) leach-out, as well as structural / "shape" problems arising from rapid moisture intake / loss. Timbers that are fully exposed to the elements should be cleaned ( see preparation sheet) prior to application of one coat (only) of Finishing product

Note: Timbers treated with Woodguard that are not fully exposed to the elements will need to be sanded prior to application of finishing product (one coat only).

EXTERIOR – New, untreated timber Decking, Joists/Bearers, Posts/Rails, Cladding, Joinery, Pergolas, Garden Furniture etc.

INTERIOR - Proposed internal feature timbers that may be exposed during construction.

Pure Tung Oil is obtained from the seeds of a tropical tree—the Tung tree (Aleurites fordii). It is a member of the spurge Family, and can also be known as China Wood Oil or Nut Oil. The seeds found in the centre of the tung fruit contain more than 50% Tung Oil, which is available when the seeds are ground and pressed. The oil is amber coloured, and contains a high proportion of eleostearic acid.

Can be used as a timber finish and is widely used as a drier in varnishes and paints. Pure Tung Oil is also a most effective seal for concrete bench-tops, floors , slate/ stone, terracotta, mud brick (adobe) and other similar constructions. The finish is more suited for interior or exterior/protected use than fully exposed exterior, due to lack of UV resistance.
